1. Realize that Alcoholism is Not Your Problem or Responsibility
Loved ones sometimes indirectly blame themselves for the addiction,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Once you give them back the addiction they are more apt to come out from denial and seek help. Alcoholics can get sober but THEY have to be willing.

The only time we would want to interfere with the alcoholic is if they are hurting themselves or someone else. Know the difference. We have to interfere if they are going to get into a car and drive drunk. We will have to interfere if they are emotionally abusing any children in the home. These things are a must, but we don’t have to enable the addiction or rescue them from the problems they create while drinking and being drunk.
5. Get Educated About Alcoholism
You can’t fix the alcoholic—they can only fix themselves. The more you enable and rescue the alcoholics problems,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that they have created while drinking,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the more they will be consumed within the addiction—in essence, you the enabler, are helping them drink! The best way to help the alcoholic or addict is to do nothing. Don’t react to the abuse and don’t enable and rescue.
Loved ones and spouses think they can somehow control the amount of alcohol the alcoholic drinks, or they think they can somehow get them to stop drinking altogether. This is nonsensical. You are completely powerless to control the alcoholic or the addiction. But you can control how you react to the alcoholic’s behaviors. Most spouses and loved ones of addicts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that have not helped themselves, do feel resentment and anger. They feel resentful for taking care of the alcoholic. They feel resentful for taking the brunt of the abusive behaviors that come with addiction. They feel resentful because they are spending their days worrying about the alcoholic. Understand that you are not alone. When you learn to detach with love it will release a huge burden from you spiritually and emotionally.
When you stop reacting to the alcoholic’s behaviors you at once stop allowing the addiction to control you. The truth is most loved ones of addicts are preoccupied with the addicts behaviors. Easy Days - Do a slow to moderate (comfortable) paced walk. Use this as an "active" rest day. This is a great time to practice technique and form.
Medium Days- A medium distance walk should be at the same approximate speed as you will use during the marathon. For instance, if your goal is to finish in approximately 6 1/2 hours, that's a marathon pace of about 15 minute miles. Workout Descriptions
Training Level Definitions
BEGINNER:

Beginner Training Schedule:
We have created these sample training schedules as a guide to help you formulate an appropriate training schedule. Please remember that this is just a general guide. You are unique,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and the training schedule may not fit into your personal schedules. If you do miss a day,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we do not recommend that you try to make up the mileage the next day. Instead, focus on the overall weekly mileage and consistency in training.
INTERMEDIATE:
A person who participates in aerobic activities on a regular basis (3-5 days per week); someone who regularly walks 4-5 miles,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or up to one hour, about 3-4 days per week.
Intermediate Training Schedule:
The following charts are broken down into three categories: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The descriptions below will give you an idea of where you may fit into the training schedules.
Cross Training Days - Cross training is a great way to avoid physical and mental burnout. We recommend swimming, biking, or low-impact aerobic classes. They are very easy on the joints and work muscles differently so you will have a more balanced conditioning.
We have broken down the descriptions into Easy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Medium, and Long,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so you can gage the pace and determine the difficulty of your individual workout.
Even though you may have the goal just to finish the marathon, it is still a good idea to set a goal for your approximate finish time. Then time your self walking that route at a comfortable pace for you. That will give you an idea of your per mile pace. Check yourself once a month to see how you have progressed.

We all want to connect with others. It would be a pretty lonely life, otherwise. Too often I see people at networking events, social gatherings, and business meetings trying so hard to sound interesting, deliver a catchy elevator speech, compete for attention to look good or sound smart (yeesh,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I've done that before!) and attempt to impress others instead of being genuinely interested in getting to know the other person.
Do this exercise: Make a list of your unique qualities, talents/gifts, and strengths. Ask your friends,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], colleagues, and clients for additional feedback. Find out what attracts them to want to be in a relationship with you. Use this exercise as a way to gain insight about how others perceive you. We struck up a conversation for about a half hour and we talked about many different things relating to both our business and personal life.
